Emmy Nominations 2013: Movie/Mini Actor
Posted by Hayley in Mar 13,2013 with 2 Comments
The 2012 Emmy Award for Best TV Movie/Miniseries Actor went to two-time Oscar champ Kevin Costner (“Hatfields and McCoys”). Could this year’s race be shaping up as a battle between Oscar kings Michael Douglas (“Behind the Candelabra”) and Al Pacino (“Phil Spector”)? Pacino has won twice before, but Douglas has so far failed on all four previous Emmy attempts.
This will be the first year that lead and supporting performances are combined into one category.
Other past Emmy winners on this year’s ballot include Kenneth Branagh (“Wallander”), Jeremy Piven (“Mr. Selfridge”), and James Woods (“Coma”).
Past Emmy nominees are James Cromwell (“American Horror Story: Asylum”), Benedict Cumberbatch (“Parade’s End”), Matt Damon (“Behind the Candelabra”), and Michael Gambon (“Restless”).
Possible rookie contenders include Grant Bowler (“Liz and Dick”), Billy Campbell and Jesse Johnson (“Killing Lincoln”), Ben Chaplin (“World Without End”), Richard Dreyfuss and Steven Pasquale (“Coma”), Toby Jones (“The Girl”), Zachary Levi, Diogo Morgado (“The Bible”), Zachary Quinto and Evan Peters (“American Horror Story: Asylum”), Ed Stoppard (“Upstairs, Downstairs”), Dominic West and Ben Whishaw (“The Hour”), and Kevin Zegers (“Titanic: Blood and Steel”). Am I reading that correctly, Zac was in “The Bible” min-series?
No, it’s for the other project airing next month (RS – That I don’t post about here)
