The Tony Awards Administration Committee met for the first time this season to decide the eligibility of three Broadway productions for the 2014 Tony Awards. The shows discussed were First Date, Soul Doctor and Romeo and Juliet.

The Committee ruled that Eric Anderson will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical category for his performances in Soul Doctor.

All other eligibility determinations were consistent with the show’s opening night credits, which means that First Date leads Zachary Levi and Krysta Rodriguez will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor and Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical categories, respectively. Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor and Actress in a Leading Role in a Play category, respectively, for their performances in Romeo and Juliet.

The 2014 Tony Awards will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on June 8 on the CBS. [SOURCE]
