NBC is calling upon a very familiar face to relaunch an equally familiar franchise.
In his first major post-Chuck TV gig, Zachary Levi has signed on to headline Heroes Reborn — NBC’s 13-episode continuation of Heroes, which ran from 2006 to 2010 — TVLine has learned exclusively.
Details about his character are being kept tightly under wraps, but we’re told Levi will be playing a “key” role in the reboot.
“There are a few franchises I’ve always wanted to be a part of, and Heroes is one of them,” Levi tells TVLine exclusively. “Chuck gave me the opportunity to wield some fun powers, but an entire world with superpowers is a world I’ve always wanted to explore.
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to work with Tim [Kring], and the awesome team around him, in bringing this to life,” he adds. “Moreover, to be working with NBC again is such a reward in itself, as my bonds and relationships there are deep.”
No longer a stranger to superheroes, Levi co-starred opposite Chris Hemsworth in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World.
As of now, the miniseries’ only other confirmed cast member is Jack Coleman, who will reprise the role of Heroes‘ Noah Bennett (aka HRG). [Source]

From Special Agent to… Commander in Chief!
Chuck leading man Zachary Levi will resurrect Abe Lincoln in a Season 2 episode of Hulu’s supernatural comedy Deadbeat, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Levi is set to appear in Episode 9, which finds Pac (Tyler Labine) hastily staging a ‘revival’ of Our American Cousin — AKA the play the late prez was attending when he was assassinated in 1865 — so that a back-from-the-dead Lincoln can see the ending that he missed.
Hulu has yet to announce a return date for Deadbeat, but the series is expected back later this year. [SOURCE]

Magnetic Press will release a series of four graphic novels based on The Adventures of Basil and Moebius, a new property created by Ryan Schifrin, beginning in March 2015. In addition to the graphic novels, a short film and fiction based on the property are also planned.
The graphic novel stories will be adapted and co-written by Larry Hama, with art by Lizzy John, Adam Archer, Rey Villegas, Jeff Huet, Ross Hughes, and Novo Malgapo, and additional art by Les Toil, David Krentz, and Tim Truman. The cover of the first volume is by Dave Dorman, and it features a foreword by Timothy Zahn.
The hardcover graphic novels will each run 120 to 160 pages and retail for $17.99 to $19.99.
The story follows thieves who are recruited to find artifacts that may have supernatural powers.
Between the quarterly releases of the graphic novels, Magnetic plans a series of prose short stories featuring the characters, to be released online, by authors such as Timothy Zahn, Richard Lee Byers, and Greg Bear.
The launch of the first graphic novel will coincide with the online release of No Rest for the Wicked, a short live-action film written and directed by Schifrin. It features Zachary Levi, Ray Park, and Malcolm McDowell. No Rest for the Wicked has played at numerous festivals, but the online release will be the first time a broad audience will have access to the film. [SOURCE]
